Razer sells two flagship wireless esports mice with nearly the same switches and battery life, which makes the Razer Viper V3 Pro vs DeathAdder V3 Pro choice less about specs and more about your hand. One is a symmetrical, 54 g speed mouse. The other is an ergonomic shape that Razer has refined for years. The real question is which one sits comfortably in your grip.
Best Overall
Razer Viper V3 Pro
Bottom LineThe lighter, faster pick with an 8000 Hz dongle in the box, best for claw and fingertip grips and for anyone chasing the lowest possible weight.
The Viper V3 Pro is a right-handed symmetrical mouse. Its low, even profile suits claw and fingertip grips, where only part of your palm touches the shell. The DeathAdder V3 Pro is a right-handed ergonomic mouse with a taller hump that fills the palm, so it suits palm grips and medium to large hands better. Both are about 5 inches (roughly 127 to 128 mm) long, so the difference is in width and height, not length.
The Viper is narrower, at about 63.9 mm (2.5 inches), against about 68 mm (2.67 inches) for the DeathAdder. A narrow body is easier to control with fingertips and to pick up at speed. A wider, more curved body gives your palm more to rest on, which helps during long sessions. If you are unsure which describes you, our guide to the best gaming mouse for palm grip explains the grip types.

Weight: The Viper Is About 9 Grams Lighter
Razer lists the Viper V3 Pro at 54 g (55 g for the white edition) and the DeathAdder V3 Pro at roughly 63 to 64 g. Both are far lighter than a typical wireless gaming mouse, so neither feels heavy. Nine grams is noticeable in fast flicks and in low-sensitivity arm aiming, where less mass is easier to stop and redirect. For slower tracking and relaxed play, most players will adapt to either weight within a few sessions.
Sensor and Polling Rate: The Viper Gets the Newer Setup
The Viper V3 Pro uses the Razer Focus Pro 35K Optical Sensor Gen-2, rated for 35,000 DPI, 750 IPS and 70 G acceleration. The DeathAdder V3 Pro uses the older Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor, rated for 30,000 DPI. Those ceilings are far above what anyone plays at, so the DPI gap alone is not a reason to buy either mouse.
Polling rate is the more practical difference. The Viper includes the Razer HyperPolling Wireless Dongle for up to 8000 Hz wireless polling. The DeathAdder polls at 1000 Hz out of the box, and 8000 Hz needs that dongle bought separately. If you want 8000 Hz without extra spending, the Viper is the simpler path. At the default 1000 Hz, most players will not feel a difference between the two.

Switches and Battery: Close to a Tie
Both mice use Razer Optical Mouse Switches Gen-3, rated for 90 million clicks, and both charge over USB-C and connect through Razer HyperSpeed Wireless. Razer rates the Viper at up to 95 hours of battery life and the DeathAdder at up to 90 hours. Runtime drops when you raise the polling rate, so treat these as best-case figures. Five hours of difference will not change how often you plug in.

And the Winner Is…
WinnerRazer Viper V3 Pro
The DeathAdder V3 Pro deserves credit where the Viper cannot match it: its taller, wider shape gives a palm grip real support, and plenty of players simply find it more comfortable over a long session. The Viper V3 Pro still wins for most people because it is lighter by about 9 g, uses the newer sensor, includes the dongle needed for 8000 Hz polling, and its symmetrical body works for claw, fingertip and relaxed hybrid grips. If your hand is on the larger side and you rest your palm on the mouse, buy the DeathAdder V3 Pro instead. Everyone else choosing between the Razer Viper V3 Pro vs DeathAdder V3 Pro should start with the Viper.
Final Thoughts on the Viper V3 Pro vs DeathAdder V3 Pro
Pick the Viper V3 Pro if you claw or fingertip grip, aim at low sensitivity, or want 8000 Hz without buying another accessory. Pick the DeathAdder V3 Pro if your palm needs a taller shell to rest on. I'm Sean, and I write the comparisons on GameCuki. I cover anything gamers weigh up before buying: consoles and handhelds, PC components and gaming laptops, monitors, controllers, headsets and accessories, plus subscriptions and services like Game Pass and PlayStation Plus. I put both options on the same checklist, using official specs, professional reviews and owner feedback, and I only mention what owners say when at least two of them report the same thing. Every comparison ends with one clear verdict and the type of player each option suits. I don't accept free products or payment from brands, and what I write comes from research, not my own use of the products. You can read my full process on our How We Review page.
