Both are officially licensed GameSir Xbox controllers with drift-resistant sticks, and one costs noticeably more. The GameSir G7 Pro vs G7 HE choice hinges on whether the G7 Pro’s extra speed and control are worth it, or whether the wired G7 HE is all you need. Latency, specs, sticks and faceplates make the case.

Latency: The G7 Pro’s Sticks Are Much Faster
GameSir lists a 1000Hz polling rate on PC for the G7 Pro, over both its 2.4G dongle and a cable. It doesn’t list a polling rate for the G7 HE.
Over a cable, here’s where the difference shows up:
Latency (wired)

GameSir G7 HE

2.8ms
Sticks
2.7ms Wins
11.6ms
Button response is almost the same, but the G7 Pro’s sticks respond about four times faster. That matters most in shooters, where you aim with the sticks. The G7 HE is wired only, so there’s no wireless comparison to make.

GameSir Mag-Res TMR

One thing to know before buying the G7 Pro: it connects to Xbox by cable only, just like the G7 HE. Its wireless modes are for PC and Android. If you want to play wirelessly on Xbox, look at the G7 Pro Wireless edition instead, one of our picks for the best Xbox controller. On the G7 HE, hold the Xbox button for about three seconds to power it on, which is longer than a standard Xbox controller.
TMR vs Hall Effect Sticks: What’s the Difference?
Both stick types use magnets instead of the worn-out contacts that cause drift in standard controllers, so both resist stick drift. The G7 HE uses Hall effect sticks, which GameSir rates for up to 5 million cycles. The G7 Pro uses GameSir’s Mag-Res TMR sticks, which combine Hall effect durability with the smooth, linear feel of traditional potentiometer sticks while using less power. The G7 Pro’s TMR sticks are also much faster over a cable. For most players, either one will hold up well. TMR is the upgrade if you care about stick feel and speed in competitive games.
Faceplates and Colors
Both controllers have magnetic faceplates that pop off for cleaning or swapping. The G7 Pro’s faceplate comes in three parts, and the G7 HE’s faceplate is paint-friendly, so you can customize it without opening the controller. GameSir sells extra magnetic faceplates for the G7, G7 SE and G7 Pro series. It doesn’t name the G7 HE on that listing, so check compatibility before you buy one for the HE.

Both share the same 152 x 103mm footprint, but the G7 HE is 45g lighter because it has no battery inside.
And the Winner Is…
WinnerGameSir G7 Pro
The G7 HE is a lot of controller for the money, with Hall effect sticks and triggers, back buttons, trigger rumble and a headset jack on an officially licensed Xbox pad. But the G7 Pro is the one worth buying. Its TMR sticks respond about four times faster, its trigger stops and four extra buttons give you more control in shooters, and it adds PC gyro, wireless play on PC and Android and a charging station. Those aren’t small extras. They’re exactly what you want if you play anything competitive or move between Xbox and PC. The G7 HE only makes sense if you play strictly on Xbox with a cable and want to spend as little as possible. For everyone else, the GameSir G7 Pro vs G7 HE choice is clear.
I'm Sean, and I write the comparisons on GameCuki. I cover anything gamers weigh up before buying: consoles and handhelds, PC components and gaming laptops, monitors, controllers, headsets and accessories, plus subscriptions and services like Game Pass and PlayStation Plus. I put both options on the same checklist, using official specs, professional reviews and owner feedback, and I only mention what owners say when at least two of them report the same thing. Every comparison ends with one clear verdict and the type of player each option suits. I don't accept free products or payment from brands, and what I write comes from research, not my own use of the products. You can read my full process on our How We Review page.
